Cistercian Nuns

Our History

St Bernard was a brilliant and  most persuasive speaker. With his entrance into Citeaux the Cistercian reform rapidly expanded throughout Europe. United under their Charter of Charity, the Cistercians embodied the aspirations of their age. The charism of Citeaux began to change the face of Europe; by 1151 there were 333 Cistercian monasteries.
